RCD and Safety Switch Testing

Contact Us

RCDs (safety switches) are prone to failure so routine electronic testing and measuring is imperative to ensure the integrity of all your RCDs and the safety of your workplace.

A residual current device (RCD) or a residual current circuit breaker, commonly know as a safety switch is designed to isolate power when it detects an in-balance commonly of 30 mA (milliamps) between the active and neutral conductor. These in-balances are commonly caused by current leakage through earth. This leakage can be caused via a faulty appliance or through the body of a person accidentally touching an energized piece of equipment.

The disconnection or tripping of the RCD should happen within 300 milliseconds. If the RCD takes too long to trip the results could lead to a serious injury or fatality.

eSafe services can conduct regular and routine inspections of your RCDs to maintain a safe working environment for your employees.

Reporting is provided by electronic format via email. They can be requested in hard copy or be available online by providing you and your staff with secure login ability.
